The Draft Contaminated Land Policy is an update of AlburyCity’s existing Contaminated Land Management Policy.
The draft AlburyCity Contaminated Land Policy is based on the 2023 RAMJO & Riverina and Eastern Regional Organisation of Councils (REROC) Model Policy developed in collaboration with the Far Northwest Joint Organisation, Dubbo Regional Council, member councils and under the guidance of a project steering committee. The 2023 Model Policy includes amendments based on advice provided by the NSW Department of Planning and Environment to member councils regarding:
- Protection of the Environment Operations (Underground Petroleum Storage Systems) Regulation 2019
- State Environmental Planning Policy (Exempt and Complying Development Codes) 2008
- NSW Department of Planning and Environment - Local Planning Direction 4.4. (Remediation of Contaminated Land)
