Review of AlburyCity's Public CCTV System 2022-2024

We're conducting a review of the AlburyCity Public Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) System for the 2022-2024 period. This review will aim to determine if the CCTV System has been operating within the objectives and guidelines outlined in the CCTV Code of Practice and Standard Operating Procedure.

Community Feedback

We are seeking feedback from community members on the following:

  • How effective do you feel the AlburyCity CCTV System is in contributing to your sense of safety?
  • How aware are you of the CCTV System network and its role in crime prevention?

Your input is crucial in assessing the effectiveness of the CCTV System and identifying areas for improvement.

About the CCTV System

The AlburyCity CCTV System provides live footage 24/7, with monitors located at the Albury police station. The network consists of 114 cameras, including:

  • 66 cameras in Dean Street, QEII Square, Albury Skatepark, Monument Hill, and the Volt Lane car park
  • 46 cameras in the Lavington Central Business District (CBD)
  • 4 cameras located on the Mobile CCTV Trailer

Objectives of the CCTV System

The AlburyCity CCTV System collaborates with NSW Police to:

  • Enhance safety for residents and visitors in the Albury Local Government Area (LGA)
  • Deter potential offenders and reduce crime levels
  • Assist in crime detection and the apprehension of offenders
