Background

The Murray River Experience Master Plan was endorsed by Council in 2007. Since this time, a range of projects have been completed. With the high priority projects now complete it's time to review the Master Plan and set new priorities.

The review has been completed in two parts

Part A – Murray River Experience Master Plan Review (Draft)

  • Review the concept designs for each open space area and outline the following:
    1. evaluate completed initiatives;
    2. assess ongoing projects;
    3. adapt to evolving priorities; and
    4. identify the next set of priorities.
  • Determine the next priorities for the construction of the Wagirra Trail.

Part B – Central Albury Riverside Parks Master Plan (Draft)

  • Develop a revised, more detailed Master Plan for Albury Central Riverside Parks

In addition, two other design projects have been undertaken to help guide improvements to the areas. They are:

We're now completing stage two consultation to test some of the key items included in the Murray River Experience review and gain feedback on the next priorities for each site. Feedback from this consultation phase will be considered and assist in refinement of the documents before presenting the final drafts to Council for endorsement followed by a public exhibition period of a minimum 56 days.
