Overview

Central Albury Riverside Parks are located adjacent to the Albury CBD on the Murray River. The 54ha site includes Monument Hill Parklands, the Albury Botanic Gardens, Hovell Tree Park, Noreuil Park, Australia Park, and Oddies Creek Park. These parks, and associated amenities, also accommodate a broad range of sport and recreation opportunities at the Albury Swim Centre, Albury Sports Ground and Noreuil Park Oval as well as picnic spaces along the river, children's play areas at Oddies Creek Park Noreuil Park Foreshore and horticultural significant Botanic Gardens.

Noreuil Park Foreshore River access Improvements

We are also seeking feedback on concept designs for improving the main river entry point at Noreuil Park Foreshore. The main aim is to replace the deteriorating stone retaining wall, improve water access for all abilities (particularly at low levels) and reduce streambank erosion.

* Continue Murray River streambank woody weed removal and revetment work

* Improve river access points at Noreuil Park Foreshore

* Initiate design work for upgrade of Albury Sports Ground and Grand Diagonal pedestrian/cycle link

* Initiate design for River Precinct pedestrian bridge across the Murray River

* Implement key actions included in the Botanic Gardens master plan

* Develop master plan for Monument Hill and surrounds to create a link from Dean Street to Memorial Bowl and Monument Hill

* Improve pedestrian/cycle access from Smollett Street to the new riverside precinct.
