Overview

The Wagirra Trail has the potential to be one of Australia’s premier riverside trails that links the Central Albury Riverside Parks with both Wonga Wetlands and Mungabareena Reserve. The ultimate destination is still to provide a pedestrian cycle link from Albury to and along the foreshore of Lake Hume. Since the endorsement of the Murray River Experience Master Plan (2007), approximately 23 kilometres of trail has been constructed from the Union Bridge (Central Albury Riverside Parks) to Wonga Wetlands. This includes a 12.5-kilometre loop around Wonga Wetlands.
